Best performers of the T20 WC 2022 Cup group stages
The group stage of the T20 WC 2022 has just ended and what amazing cricket the fans have watched! There were no dead rubber matches and each match had an effect on the teams playing the match or an effect on the teams who are in their groups. We have witnessed upsets, hat-tricks, amazing catches, heartbreaking moments, and many more exciting moments.
So here are the best performers of the 2022 T20 World Cup group stage
5) Karthik Meiyappan (UAE)
Karthik Meiyappan made the cricketing world buzz when he took a hat-trick against Sri Lanka. It was no ordinary hattrick as the leg spinner took the wickets of Sri Lanka's best batsman- Charith Asalanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Dasun Shanaka.
The 22-year-old finished the group stage with 5 wickets with an economy of 5.00.
4) Curtis Campher (Ireland)
Curtis Campher played an important role to make sure that Ireland qualified for the super 12s. His match-winning knock of 72 in 32 balls against Scotland sealed Ireland's spot in group 1 of the super 12's.
The 23-year-old all-rounder finished the group stage scoring 99 runs with an astounding strike rate of 183.33. He also contributed with the ball as his figures of 2/9 against Scotland helped Ireland get their first win in the 2022 T20 World Cup.
3) Max O'Dowd (Netherlands)
The second-highest run-scorer in the group stage of the group stage, Max O Dowd scored 129 runs in 3 matches with an average of 64.50. His scores of 23, 35, and 71 ensured that the Netherlands sealed a spot in group 2 of the super 12s. His ability to score consistently and bat with a high strike rate makes him a valuable player in the Netherlands setup.
2) Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe)
Sikandar Raza has been in the Zimbabwe team for around 10 years. Making his debut in 2013, the 36-year-old has contributed tremendously to Zimbabwe's success.
Sikandar Raza contributed with both bat and ball in the group stage. He took 5 wickets in 3 matches with an average of 5.55 and his scores of 82 and 40 were match-winning knocks for Zimbabwe to seal a spot in group 2 of the super 12.
The veteran is also currently the highest run-getter in the tournament with 136 runs to his name.
