"We must plan Inter's future with or without me," says Antonio Conte

Inter dropped their pace in the Serie A just before the lockdown and that led to their fallout from the Scudetto race.

The same happened in the Europa League too. Inter Milan were one of the favorites to win this season’s Europa League but a classy Sevilla performance ruined everything.

Following that, Inter coach Antonio Conte has casted some doubt on his future as the Inter boss after the dramatic loss.

Romelu Lukaku gave the Serie A giants an early lead from the penalty spot and Diego Godin helped them level at half-time after Luuk de Jong headed a first-half brace.

Diego Carlos, who a lot of people think should’ve been red-carded earlier for his challenge on Lukaku, proved an unlikely match-winner when his 74th-minute overhead kick was deflected by Inter’s number nine.

This led to the Nerazzurri end up as runners-up again as they were to Juventus in Serie A, ending a season with a lot of positives but plenty of missed opportunities.

The ex-Chelsea boss told in his post-match conference that he may not be there to try and right those wrongs.

“There is no rancour at all from me or the club. There’s no point beating around the bush. We have to see whether everyone is prepared to not have another year like this, for what happened. I’ll evaluate with the club the situation. We must plan Inter’s future with or without me, " he remarked.

Conte hinted another reason for his restlessness and that maybe his family. “I have a family and I have to understand if football is the priority or my family. Everything has its limits, I have to see where my limits are. We’ll clarify the situation, without rancour because I will always be grateful for having the chance to spend a great year at Inter but it was also very tough.”

If Conte leaves, it is reported that ex-Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri is the frontrunner for the Inter post.
