Juventus manager Andrea Pirlo clears the air on a rift with Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo has cleared the air about his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo amidst speculations of a rift between the two legends
Cristiano Ronaldo has been with Juventus for two seasons now and people think that he is treated in a different way than the rest of the players in the squad.
However, it was time that Andrea Pirlo cleared the air and came out clean about the exact scenario at the Allianz Stadium.
The Portuguese skipper has started the 2020-21 season really well with eight goals in his first six games. He scored a brace too and got the Old Lady past Cagliari 2-0 on Saturday.
With that brace Ronaldo has now scored 50% of Juventus' 2020 Serie A goals. (29 out of 59).
The Bianconeri are set to face Ferencvaros again in the Champions League and in the pre-match conference the Juventus boss opened about the ex-Madrid forward's treatment in the dressing room.
The last meeting between the two before the international break was a memorable one for the Bianconeri.
He said, "I haven't challenged Ronaldo on set-pieces yet. I treat him like I treat all the other players. I'm always available on and off the pitch."
"It's easy to have a good relationship with humble people. I'm like that, I behave with him, a champion, like I do with Gianluca Frabotta or Manolo Portanova, who are two young players"
Pirlo also said that he did everything he was used to doing during his time as a player. The five-time Ballon d'Or has scored goals from inside the box and the Portuguese has also converted 75% of his big chances.
Juventus are currently second, three points adrift of Barcelona in group G and a win here would certainly ensure their qualification.
After missing out on the Champions League Golden Boot twice in a row, the Portuguese skipper would hope that he does everything he can to get his team to Champions League glory this season.
As things stand, Ronaldo is yet to open his scoring account in the UCL for Juventus. However, he does have an assist to his name.
