Suarez to Juventus deal off as the Uruguayan fails to obtain a passport

Luis Suarez moving to Juventus was almost a done deal but things seem to have turned around after Andrea Pirlo admitted that it would be ‘difficult’ for the forward to acquire an Italian passport before the end of the transfer window.

It happened as the Bianconeri have already filled their allowance that is allotted for two non-EU signings per window after the signings of Arthur Melo and Weston McKennie were confirmed. It is a loss for both the parties as only a passport exacerbated the deal that had no other issues and looked very evident to go through.

The Barcelona striker has another mode of achieving Italian naturalization as his better-half is already a citizen but the process accounts for a number of years and that left Juventus with no option but to move on due to the unavailability of any viable route. 

Suarez had also undergone a language exam as a part of the process to get an Italian passport and had also passed it but everything has turned into baseless efforts as the deal will be off.

Pirlo also spoke about a new way of setting up his team ahead of his coaching debut and insisted that neither Ronaldo nor Dejan Kulusevski will function as a traditional number nine role. He said, “Neither Kulusevski nor Ronaldo will start in the classic centre-forward position, they will try to move according to what the other does. There will be rotation to allow as many young people as possible to arrive in that area.”

The Old Lady will commence their season without the services of Paulo Dybala, Matthijs de Ligt and Douglas Costa as all of them continue their recovery. Pirlo was appointed as the Juventus boss after Juventus were out in disappointing fashion in the UCL and were just fortunate enough to avoid a Scudetto slip.
