Top five highest goal-scoring midfielders for Manchester United in Premier League history

Only four midfielders have scored 50 or more Premier League goals in the club’s history.

Bruno Fernandes has been singled out by many as one of the most important signings at Manchester United in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era. His impact from the middle of the park since joining the Red Devils from the former club of another United legend cannot be overlooked as the Portuguese international reached 50 goals in the Premier League for the 20-time English champions.

In only his fourth year at the English giants, his name is taken by the fans in the same vein as some of the legends of the club who won multiple major honours in the glory years of Manchester United

Juan Mata – 34

Bruno Fernandes reached the 50-goal milestone in the Premier League with a screamer of a goal from 40 yards out against arch-rivals Liverpool. He has already scored 74 goals and helped his fellow Mancunians with 62 assists in all competitions for the Red Devils in 226 overall appearances.

Paul Scholes is regarded as one of the most complete midfielders of his generation in the world, respected by his peers and experts. The legendary Englishman scored a whopping 107 goals in the Premier League alone for Manchester United. He went on to play an even more impressive 716 matches for the Red Devils, becoming a one club man in the process and never featuring for any other club in his career.

Ryan Giggs – 109

And on top comes another one club player who was arguably the face of United during their glory years. Ryan Giggs can surely stake his claim to be touted as one of the greatest players to represent Manchester United. He dedicated his entire playing career to the Red Devils and scored 109 times in the league, becoming the highest-scoring midfielder for the club in the Premier League.

Ryan Giggs is the  proud owner of the record for making the most appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, featuring 963 times between 1991 and 2014 during which he scored 167 goals and made 255 assists. He won the Premier League 13 times for the Red Devils and two UEFA Champions League titles as well.
