The third round of the Wimbledon Championships is all set to take the center stage as fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas takes on cult hero Nick Kyrgios. 

The clash will be a huge attraction for the fans as Kyrgios, who is unseeded but has history on his side with a better head-to-head record. 

On the flipside, the Greek sensation Tsitsipas all but looks ready to clinch his first Grand Slam title as he bids for a place in the fourth round.

The clash between Tsitsipas and Kyrgios will be played at the iconic Court No.1 where the pair will contest its first Grand Slam meeting. 27-year-old Kyrgios leads the overall head-to-head by 3-1, with the solitary win for the Greek star coming at the Laver Cup in 2021. 

The Australian has a proud record against the 6 ft 4 inch Greek star who is seeded fourth for the Wimbledon.

In the only meeting between the pair on Grass court, it was the man from Down Under, Kyrgios who emerged victorious in three sets at the Halle Open in Germany. 

Their first ever meeting came in 2019 and interestingly all of the Kyrgios’ wins have come in three sets.

In the first two rounds of the Wimbledon Championships, Tsitsipas has been in great touch but dropped one set in the opening match against Alexander Ritschard. 

However, it was an easy walk in the park for the No.4 seed as he defeated Jordan Thompson in straight sets, registering a 6-2, 6-3, 7-5 win.

Kyrgios, 27, has had a different Wimbledon so far as he was fined by the authorities for splitting at a fan. However, in on-court action, he survived a huge scare in the first round. 

In a marathon, first-round clash, the Australian won by 3-6, 6-1, 7-5, 6-7, 7-5 against home favourite Paul Jubb. However, Kyrgios showed his class in the second round as he dropped only six games against 26th seed Filip Krajinović.
