Danny Rose loses his cool after latest announcement by the UK government
Danny Rose says bringing back Premier League football should be far from a priority during a global pandemic. Rose has launched a furious remark against plans to bring back the Premier League football, insisting it should be not considered at the moment.
The UK government confirmed that professional sports can resume after June 1 and it also laid out its “roadmap” to recovery from the coronavirus outbreak. The Premier League clubs also held further talks with the league officials on Monday to try to end the deadlock over plans to resume the season, with teams who opposed to the idea of playing at a neutral ground.
The government has agreed to the idea of resumption of the league because they want to boost the morale of the citizens, which has been in lockdown since March. However, Rose, who is on loan at Newcastle United feels it is very wrong to bring back the game until the entire COVID-19 scenario is resolved.
He was very harsh with his words and said, “I don’t give a f*** about the nation’s morale. People’s lives are at risk. Football shouldn’t even be spoken about coming back until the numbers have dropped massively. Its b******s. We’ll see. I’m supposed to be tested on Friday, so we will just have to wait and see.”
“I didn’t even listen to the announcement, no football until June 1 or something. I don’t even pay attention to any of that. I’m sad people are getting sick and being affected but football should be the last of the things that need to get sorted.”
As per The Times, the Premier League will be asking the government to reconsider the directive that matches should be held at neutral venues. The Bundesliga is only one of Europe’s top five leagues to be close to a return, with matches ready to kick-off from May 16.
