"A lot of teams will try," Klopp on who will win the Premier League

There are six teams in the mix for Premier League glory this season, according to the Reds boss Jurgen Klopp. 

Klopp is expecting an ‘open race’ as multiple teams fight for the Premier League and Klopp has been very critical by saying that the league will not be just a two horce race between Liverpool and Manchester City.

The German won the top-flight trophy to Anfield for the first time last season after a long haul of 30 years, with the Reds concluding their Premier League 18 points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side who were also 15 points ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea.

In fact this time, Klopp did not hesitate to include Tottenham and Arsenal into the race considering their recent form. 

The Gunners finished eighth and yet Klopp considered him as a competition keeping in mind, his back-to-back losses to Arteta in the league followed by the Community Shield.

Klopp felt that Arsenal could’ve easily finished fifth or sixth if Arteta was appointed earlier. 

He said, “The Premier League and these teams are too good, you can’t decide the season before it starts."

It doesn’t work like this. Man City, I think maybe people thought they could have some struggles at Wolves because Wolves are really good and in the second half they could have got a point. Nobody is safe from this kind of thing, so we have to work incredibly hard.”

“And over the other teams, we have no influence. When we face them, we want to beat them."

"It’s an open race, Chelsea will be there, United will be there, Arsenal, Tottenham these teams will always be there. It’s a marathon, not a sprint and you have to go through a lot of moments," he further added. 

"I don’t know why we talk about winning the league, I have no idea who will win but I know a lot of teams will try, " he concluded. 

Liverpool are already on their run to defend the title or in Klopp’s words attack the title again, firing six goals in two games, grabbing six points with wins over Leeds United and Chelsea.
