FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi takes a stand against "fake news"
TNT Sports recently claimed that Messi was considering a move to Internazionale at the end of the season but this is not the first time that someone has made up a dodgy rumor. Report number two, on the other hand, was considered more absurd.
The very same outlet suggested that La Pulga had paid Ronaldinho’s £1.3 million bail to get the Brazilian legend out. However, the most surprising fact is that Lionel Messi took to Instagram to clear the air, posting a story in which he labeled TNT’s reports as “fake news”.
He wrote:
“Lie 1: Messi to Inter, Lie 2: Messi gave money to Ronaldinho in jail. What they said about Newell’s Old Boys a few weeks ago is also false, thank god no one believed them.”
It all started when Ronaldinho and his brother were arrested last month while trying to cross the Paraguayan border using a fake passport, even though Brazilians only need an ID card to enter the country.
However, the Brazilian had a good time while he was locked up as he had a nice 40th birthday party, enjoying some mystery meat on a stick and he also won a 16 kg piglet by leading his side to victory in a prison football tournament. Both Ronaldinho and his brother were released earlier this week and put under house arrest while they await trial.
Reports of the former Barcelona player being unable to pay his bail, many questions were raised over the fact that he was released. Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, football has been on hold and fans all over the world are waiting for it to resume.
Lack of work has also led to many rumors and questions, the most popular being whether Liverpool will be the Premier League champions or not. Mixed reports have been around for a while and everyone especially the Liverpool fans are excited and at the same time anxious about the decision.
